4 Ways Touch Displays Help Your Business

Now is the time to install touch screen displays for your business. Both your employees and customers will quickly see the benefits of your newly installed touch display systems and will thank you for it. Here are just a few of those benefits:

Boost Employee Productivity

Touch displays can help improve your employee’s productivity and effectiveness. Touch screens can work through tough conditions, can be waterproof, and work with gloved hands making for uninterrupted workflow.

Engage With Customers

Interactive touch displays allow for customers to become more like participants in your business. Displays can contribute to a more fun, memorable, and exciting experience. Bright and visually intriguing displays can help attract customers as well.

Quicker Customer Experience

Customers value their time often just as much as quality and price. Touch screens can help contribute to a faster and more convenient customer experience, especially with businesses such as fast-food restaurants, movie theaters, and train stations.

Improve Accessibility

Touch screen technology can heavily benefit individuals with disabilities and improve their accessibility with your business. Individuals can zoom, increase text size and image size, and have text read aloud with voice technologies depending on their needs. Touch screens, as well, can be more comfortable and easier for individuals in wheelchairs to read and interact with.

How to Get Water Out of Your Phone

Most of us have done it before, and it will likely happen again! If you’ve dropped your phone in water, it’s logical that your first thought might be that this is a complete disaster, and there’s no hope to save your phone, but it’s not true! If you act quickly and with the proper technique, there is a good chance you won’t need to invest in a new device.

Here’s what you need to do in case your drop your phone into the water:

  1. Get your phone out of the water as soon as possibleThis should be obvious, but the less time your phone is submerged, the better the chance it has for it to survive!
  2. Turn it off right away – If it isn’t off already, make sure to turn it off and keep it off. The goal here is to make sure it doesn’t short circuit.
  3. If you can, take out the battery, SIM card, and SD – What kind of phone you have will determine what you are able to remove. This step helps you get everything out in the open for more airflow and quicker drying time.
  4. Dry it out – Dab your phone with a cloth or a paper towel. You’ll want to make sure the phone is tilted on its side so gravity can help get the water out.
  5. Give it timeAllow for the phone to air dry and leave it for as long as possible.

What NOT to do:

  • Don’t blow into your phone with your mouthYou may think this will help, but instead, you’ll likely push the water further into the phone causing more damage.
  • Don’t use a blow dryer – Aside from pushing the water further into the phone, the hot air will quickly overheat your phone.
  • Don’t put your phone in a microwave or any heating up contraption – This will only destroy your phone.
  • Don’t be so quick to grab some riceThis is what people tend to think is the most effective way of drying out your phone, but many studies show that natural air drying your phone out is a better method, especially if you are in a warmer climate.

How to Protect Your Electronics During a Storm

There’s always another storm just around the corner. Rain, wind, and lightning can all wreak havoc on our homes and property, including electronics. Whether it’s flooding, a lightning strike, or a power surge, it’s possible to protect your electronics from being damaged by these elements.

Protecting Electronic Devices and Yourself

With these helpful tips, you’ll be able to protect your electronics, data, and yourself from serious harm that comes from storms:

  • UnplugBefore there’s a storm, the safest bet is to unplug all your electronics and avoid any risk. It’s the only way you can be confident that you and your electronics will be safe.
  • Back up your data regularlyStorm surges can destroy plugged-in electronics and completely fry their data. Backing up your data before a storm or regularly can prevent the loss of any important electronics content.
  • Use surge protectors – Connect your electronics and critical devices to surge protector strips to prevent damage from a storm-related power surge.
  • Avoid use during an active storm When there is an active storm, don’t use any electronics plugged into an outlet. Wait until you are sure the storm passes.
  • Don’t use any wet electronicsIf any electronics get, do not use them until they’ve thoroughly dried and been checked by a technician. For example, don’t use your washer or dryer if there was any flooding. Have them checked by a professional before to be sure there is no risk of harm or injury.

What is Optical Bonding?

Do you ever take a moment to appreciate the beautiful, bright screen on your electronic devices that has made your life easier in a multitude of ways? Well, you can thank optical bonding for that!

What is Optical Bonding?

Optical bonding is a crucial process that consists of applying a thin layer of resin to a glass screen or touchscreen, which is then attached to an LCD panel of a monitor. This process is done to secure the two together in order to create a solid bond without any pockets of air in between them.

Screens that have used optical bonding are most commonly used for technology within the military, medical, marine, and transportation industries where screens would likely endure heavy lighting, the outdoor elements, and other harsh conditions.

What Are The Benefits of Optical Bonding?

Having screens that have undergone the optical bonding process have many benefits over other displays:

  • Greater durability – The cover glass and LCD cells are both better protected from shock.
  • Better imaging – Optical bonding eliminates internal refraction creating a better and brighter display.
  • Better touch screen – Optical bonding reduces parallax, and without the air gap, the touch is much more accurate for a natural and reliable experience.
  • Protection from dust and moisture – Dust and moisture are unable to penetrate the glass because of the eliminated air gap.
  • Lighter display weight – The hardened adhesive layer makes for a lighter display that’s easier to handle and transport.
