Single Board Computer



Single Board Computer (SBCs) have the task to integrate the functionality of a standard motherboard on the smallest space possible and to even add features that are required in industrial applications. Thus you can find on most SBCs next to the CPU and the ChipSet an on-board sound processor, graphics support for CRT and TFT Flat Panels and several interfaces. One of the SBC highlights is the support of solid state discs like CompactFlashDisc or ChipOnDisc. On these modules you can store your application software and it is even possible to boot from these devices.

3.5" Sub-Compact SBCs

These SBCs have a size of 5.75“x 4.00“, the equivalent to the footprint of a 3½" hard disc drive. Nevertheless they cover all functions of a standard motherboard plus additional industrial features. These 3½" boards are expandable through the PC/104 bus.
5.25" Compact SBCs

These SBCs have a size of 8.00“ x 5.75“, the equivalent to the footprint of a 5¼" hard disc drive and feature all functions of a standard motherboard, special industrial features and a PCI slot. These 5¼" boards are expandable through the PC/104 bus and mostly also through a PCI expansion slot.
Half-Size Slot SBCs

These SBCs have a size of 7.30“ x 4.80“, being compatible to the dimensions of standard PCI slot cards. Via a passive back-plane you can build up a computer system, expandable with any ISA/PCI cards. The attachment of PC/104 modules is supported.
PC/104

PC/104 SBC modules have a size of 3.55“ x 3.775“. This design is compatible with the PC/104 standard and is expandable with according PCI/104 modules.
Mini-ITX Motherboard

Mini-ITX [Mini - I Technology eXtended] is an embedded mother board board, based on the industry-standard x86 architecture. The general size of the Mini-ITX board is 170mm x 170mm [height x length].
ECX

ECX (Embedded Compact Extended), form factors: 105mm x 146mm. Used as a Single Board Computer, SBC.
